Recently arrived from Greece, Katerina joins us as our Business Change Executive – a new role within our business. Katerina will be responsible for identifying our core processes and documenting them, aiding us in quality assurance and identifying repeatable steps that are successful.
Katerina really appreciated that the values and principles that she saw displayed by Grant McGregor at her interview are the values and principles she has been welcomed by when she began – as she says, “they weren’t just words”. She’s excited to help us record our working practices and assist us in optimizing them. With a certification as an Internal QMS Auditor for ISO 9001 she is well placed to do so. She knows that there is a lot of work ahead of her and is eager to get stuck in, whilst also having a focus on future certification and broadening her skills.
Back home in Greece, Katerina worked for a family company for over 14 years – and we certainly hope that we earn her trust for a similar level of dedication. In her spare time, she is enjoying exploring our beautiful home city of Edinburgh.

Give an example of something positive you’ve learned from working in IT.
Working in IT is all about staying on the cutting edge of technology. From a PC format to Software-Defined networks and all things in-between, everything has a positive impact in my everyday life.
What’s your favourite film in the whole world and why?
I’m torn between The Godfather 2 and Lord of the Rings 2. They are so different and their only similarity is that I like both sequels more that the first movie. If you ask me the same question tomorrow I’ll come up with another favourite movie that will probably have something to do with a fantasy/post-apocalyptic world, a crime or a reverse chronology storyline.
What makes you laugh heartily every time and why?
Real life is the best comedy. I try to surround myself with smart people with great sense of humour. Oh… and of course the “garbage men” scene from Louis CK which represents the funniest memory of my childhood weekend mornings.
If you had a whole week out to do something you really wanted and were given £1000 gratis to do it, what would you do and why?
I would pick a random travel destination that matched the budget and go for an adventure. The world is so big and I have seen so little.
