Fantastical Fact File

Give an example of something positive you’ve learned from working in IT.
That no matter how hard you try to know everything about it, you will always find out something new with IT; it is an ever changing and developing subject. Every day there is always something to learn, something to ask or to find out more about. There is also lots of exciting and new things to explain to people too. Sharing the knowledge and educating people is something I find really rewarding.

What’s your favourite film in the whole world and why?
The Room (2003) because it is a truly perfect example of an unintentional comedy. Something I do enjoy is films that are so bad, they are actually rather good to watch. However, there are so many films I have enjoyed like this so it was hard to truly pick the best…

What makes you laugh heartily every time and why?
Good old British Comedy. Something that always makes me laugh is that traditional British comedy sense of laughing at truly terrible and rotten people, yet picking on the kind of person we would all like to be, given the chance.

If you had a whole week out to do something you really wanted and were given £1000 gratis to do it, what would you do and why?
I would love to visit all those places in Europe that I keep telling myself I will. Something I have always wanted to do is visit much of Europe but have never really found the time to accomplish this…as yet! Anything left would go to an animal based charity at the end of the week.

Tell us something that you personally aim to achieve inside the next 5 years.
To have a fixed point in my life where I am happy in my work, happy in where I live and able to live the life I want without having to worry. Something I am sure we all aspire to but in my life I have always been moving around and doing different jobs… I think I have nearly achieved this now so I would hope that if someone asked me this question in 5 years time, my answer would be something completely different.

Give us one reason that you wanted to work with GM…
Working for Grant McGregor gave me an opportunity to do what I enjoy and to further a career I plan to continue on with throughout my life. IT and helping others has always been something I enjoy, here I get to do both on a daily basis….and get paid for it!
